What You Need to Know.
Living in Southeastern North Carolina can be quite the hot ordeal. Naturally, this type of weather can take a toll on you. However, your vehicle also suffers from the elements as well. The last thing you want to do is be stuck with no cool or hot air when you need it most.
How Does Your AC Work?
Driving to your destination without climate control is a truly miserable experience. But, how does it all come together? Your vehicle’s air conditioning system contains parts such as the compressor, condenser, expansion valve and evaporator. When any of these parts ceases to function properly it can cause your ac to stop or be reduced in performance. The lifeblood of any good automotive ac system is what we call Freon, which is a type of refrigerant. Pat’s uses world class R-134A Freon to make sure your ac system is reliable from brands like Dupont and FVP. The Freon is evaporated at high temperature and then is compressed into a cooler gas. That gas is then cooled by a blower and comes out of your vents as the refreshing air you know and love!
How Does Your Heating System Work?
Your heating unit is basically a smaller version of your vehicle’s radiator system. Engine coolant is heated up and then circulated to your vehicle’s heater core, which is then turned into hot air that will keep you nice and toasty.
Climate Control Problems:
- Escaping Freon: One of the most common problems that we see is when ac systems lose their effectiveness over time. Freon doesn’t ever truly go bad, but it can escape your vehicle’s systems! Pat’s has the tools to fix this by recharging the system with a special machine. This machine will tell the mechanics how much old Freon is still in your vehicle, before it is sucked out and replaced with the precise amount of the new Freon it needs.
- AC/Antifreeze Performance Check: Keep cool in the summer and warm in the winter with our vehicle AC and Antifreeze system check. An AC performance check, that can include a system evacuation & amp, will help you leave your climate control worries behind. Ensuring you have the right antifreeze, such as Prestone brand antifreeze, will keep your vehicle ready to heat up during colder weather. Wherever you go, no matter the season, days a week Pat’s has the know how to keep your drive a comfortable one six days a week.
